Iris analysis is the study and analysis of the neuro-optic reflex. The structural patterns and colours in the iris have the potential to reveal inherent strengths and weaknesses of body systems, organs and tissues in the body. In conventional medicine ophthalmologists utilise iris analysis to identify possible high cholesterol or diabetes.
Iris analysis may be used as a health assessment tool by helping to determine reflex conditions of body tissues, organ and body systems. Analysis of the iris could potentially identify areas of inflammation and congestion and also provide information about an individuals constitutional strengths and weaknesses.
Iridology is not utilised as a diagnostic tool but rather as supportive role in a naturopathic treatment plan to help identify possible predispositions within an individual.
